Hello,

Are sales tax included in the electricity bill values? It seems that sales tax is not applied to the energy purchased from the grid, but it is difficult to know for sure since the bill data only separates energy, demand and fixed charges, but does not mention tax anywhere. I'm trying to model a foreign system for a commercial user, where the tax savings could be significant.

Dear Nayeli,

The categories on the Electricity Rates page are limited to a monthly fixed rate in $, energy rates in $/kWh and demand rates in $/kW. To include a sales tax in the electricity bill calculation, you should include it in one of those categories.

Note that the sales tax rate on the Financial Parameters page applies to the cost of purchasing equipment for the system. It is not applied to the electricity purchases.
