Downloaded Wind Resource Data Missing Pressure Data

Using a wind resource file downloaded from the WIND Toolkit in SAM does not seem to work in 2016.3.14. It appears that the pressure column is missing data since every row is 0 atm. This results in zero kWh production. I've also noticed that there are more than 8765 rows in the downloaded data compared to the representative typical wind resource files.

As a workaround, I used the pressure data from a corresponding TMY3 file ( energyplus.net/weather ) by opening the EPW in Elements ( bigladdersoftware.com/projects/elements/ ), copying the pressure column, and pasting it into the SRW file.

Is there any update on this problem? I am also getting 0 kW output when using data from the WIND Toolkit.

Thank you,
Kate Doubleday

Hi,

Is there an update?

The problem still persists for several regions such as upper Texas above Amarillo while unaffected at certain regions such as below it.

Hi all,

There is a problem with the data for 2012. As a workaround for now, you can choose a different year to download a complete weather file.

The WIND Toolkit team is still working to resolve this issue. I will post more here when I learn more.

Best regards,
Paul.
