Importing Generation Data into SAM was created by pgilman
If I have real time generation data of an existing residential solar array, is it possible to import this data instead into SAM, rather than estimating and resimulating the output of the array.
Yes. You can use the Generic System model to import an 8760 column of electric generation data into SAM. That makes it possible to use measured performane data or data from another model with SAM's financial model.

Hi Paul,
I want to ask you how to import the real generation data into Sam with the generic system.
can you give me a little tutorial?.
regards

Thanks Paul, i have one question more.
i'm working in "Photovoltaic (detailed)" cause i want to use the battery options, however, i cant imput the real generation data in that project.
in the case of general system i can imput the real data but i cant use the battery options.
maybe i can use a scripts to include the real data generation in the photovoltaic project?
regards

Hello,
In SAM 2016.3.14, battery storage is part of the detailed photovoltaic model, so it is not possible to use the battery model with your own generation data.
The data array that stores the generation data is an internal variable, so it is not possible to use an LK script to modify it before it is passed to the battery model. You can use the "Curtailment and Availability" losses on the Losses page to make adjustments to the PV system's output, but not to replace it entirely.
Can you tell me more about your modeling application? I would like to discuss it with the development team in case we can make some modifications to SAM to make it possible to model it.
Best regards,
Paul.
