Electricity Rates was created by stumpyd123
I have been able to figure out just about everything I need to in SAM, but I still find the electricity rates page baffling for more complex rate structures.
Can you please show me how to input this rate structure?
Summer Demand Charges
December, January, February from 10 AM to 8 PM, weekdays only
Demand charges above 20 kw cost $55/kW
Off Peak Demand Charges
All the rest of the year
Demand charges above 40 kW cost $13/kW
Energy Charges
From 10 AM to 8 PM on weekdays, the power costs $0.13 / kWh
All other times, power costs $0.08 / kWh

Thanks Paul. What do you do with the table under demand charges "Demand Rates by Month with Optional Tiers"?

That table is for a demand charge that applies to the peak demand in each month without time-of-use periods. You can set the $/kW charge for each month in that table to zero to remove that from your analysis. (You could also change "Number of entries" to 1, and then set the single $/kW charge to zero.)
