CSP with molten Salts was created by sidom
Hello,

How does SAM work with the molten salts Storage when running the CSP empirical model with molten salts through the solar field and without TES?
What are the main differences between a SAM Project with HTF or molten salts through the solar field?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

For the empirical trough model, changing the field or storage fluid changes the thermal properties used in the model equations. Also, if the HTF in the field and TES are the same, SAM sets the heat exchanger duty to zero. If the fluids are different, it calculates a value based on the solar multiple.

Best regards,
Paul.

Thank you for your quick response.

Two additional clarifications:
- It is supposed that CSP Empirical model can run with molten salts through solar field but without TES capability? Is assumption this correct?
- How does SAM take into consideration Tank Heat Losses with the previous moodel configuration?

Thanks
