Equipment Cost Metrics was created by shaun_jsmith@hotmail.com
The cost metrics for equipment built into SAM (cost per m2 of colector etc.) I believe are defined through industry consultancy. The question is, if these were defined within the US then are there any weighting factors that indicate how we can tweak these cost metrics for different regions internationally ? Build costs, manufacturing costs etc. can vary quite a lot from country to country, and region to region. I would like some advice on how to approach tweaking these metrics within SAM to favour the region I am considering, for example the Middle East.

You'll have to do your own research to determine the best cost assumptions to use for your analysis. The default cost values in SAM are designed to be a starting point for your analysis. For information about where those costs come from, please see the System Cost Data page .
Best regards,

Paul.
