Hi! I'm doing a research of integration on renewable energy on the national grid, and i'm using SAM to create photovoltaics and wind projects, but I don't have the parameters of wind and radiation of Mexico cities. I'll apreciate if someone could help me with that.

Dear Isabel,
For the photovoltaic model, you can download solar resource data by clicking the "Download" button on the Location and Resource page. Just type an address, city name, or latitude and longitude, and if data is available, SAM will download it from the NREL National Solar Radiation Database. You can also download data outside of SAM directly from the NSRDB website:  nsrdb.nrel.gov/nsrdb-viewer .
For wind, you will have to do some research to find reasonable data to use with SAM. I am not aware of a source of free wind resource data for Mexico.
Best regards,

Paul.

Isabel

I've done some work with creating weather files for SAM using NASA MERRA data. Feel free to contact me directly if you're interested in following this up.

Kind regards

Angus
