Does the "Field Thermal Power Header Pipe Losses (MWt)" for the physical trough model only account for the losses at the header or does it refer to all the field piping thermal losses (except for HCEs)? If the case is the first, is there a way to get an estimate of the total field piping losses?

This value represents the heat loss from the headers and runners, as defined in the physical trough reference manual, available on the Performance Model Documentation page .

To estimate this loss, you need to know the geometry of the runners, headers, and field. You can find some of this information after running a simulation by clicking the Notices tab on the Results page.

You can adjust the losses by changing 'Piping thermal loss coefficient" on the Parasitics page.
