SAM not recognizing my digital lat/long data was created by philchukwueke
Tried to follow the TMY3 user manual to the letter, but SAM does not recognize the digital lat/long ..CSV data I manually input into the Line 1 Header as follows:
999999 "Bakura" NG 1 12.6102 5.7266 315
What am I missing??

Hello,
If you are trying to create a weather file for SAM to read, I would recommend using the SAM CSV format instead of the TMY3 format. The SAM CSV format only requires you to include the data that SAM will use, and is more forgiving in terms of number and date formatting.
Also, how do you know that SAM is not recognizing the latitude and longitude? If you use the "Use a specific weather file on disk checkbox," SAM does not display information from the file in on the Location and Resource page but does use it for the simulation. It only displays data from the solar resource library on that input page.
Instead of using the check box, I would recommend adding the folder that contains your TMY3 and other custom weather files to SAM's solar resource library. To do that, click "Folder settings" and add the folder to the list of files that SAM checks for weather files. Then your TMY3 file will appear in the list of locations, and when you choose it, SAM will display the location data on the input page.
Best regards,
Paul.
