        Dear Paul,
I think I may have discovered another issue with the CSP generic model. I am attempting to model a small-scale CSP system that would only produce during business hours. I have used the scheduling matrix to try to manipulate it so that the CSP effectively shuts down during weekend hours, i.e. no fossil fuel back up and no fuel from TES. However, no matter what I seem to try the system is still generating power over the weekend. Is it possible that there is a disconnect in the model where the weekend matrix is not being considered? It seems to work fine when I shut down the system during weekday evening hours.
Thanks for the help.
Kind regards,
Charlie

Thanks Charlie. The CSP team is investigating. I will let you know when I hear from them.
Best regards,
Paul.

        Dear Charlie;
I read your post and try to understand your design approach according to your words.
"I am attempting to model a small-scale CSP system that would only produce during business hours. I have used the scheduling matrix to try to manipulate it so that the CSP effectively shuts down during weekend hours, i.e. no fossil fuel back up and no fuel from TES"
Can you please give more details of your design approach and idea?
What is the size of the small-scale CSP system? What type of CSP do you want to design? and so forth.
I would like to understand you idea.
Have a nice day
Best Regards
Burak

        Thanks very much, Paul.
Burak - I am investigating a 100 kWe (net) CSP system similar to what is being developed by AORA Solar. Such a system could be installed in 100 kW modules for large off-grid power consumers. AORA's system is a power tower system that uses air as the HTF and has a fossil fuel back up. Using the Generic CSP model (for now), I am broadly investigating the financial feasibility of such a system in different conditions, like baseload versus dispatchable generation, or whether or not TES should be included.
Best regards,
Charlie
