Wrong Module Areas in CEC Database was created by NavidS
Hi Paul,
I noticed the module areas for Canadian Solar CS6X-xxxP series are wrong in the CEC database (1.852 vs. 1.91883). I did not check the rest but judging by the values the same can apply to other products as well. I don't believe this will affect the overall results but it results in higher calculated efficiency.
Thanks,
Navid

Dear Navid,
Based on the information required of manufacturer's in the CEC equipment application form ( XLS 500 KB ), it appears that the CEC requires the module area excluding the frame. The dimensions on the data sheet are the outer dimensions of the module frame.
This may have a small effect on the shading calculations, but otherwise should not impact the results. Please see the following discussion for more on this:

Best regards,
Paul.

Dear Paul,
Thanks for your response. I agree the effect on the results is minimal.
PLease not the help file indicates the module area is inclusive of frame: "The total area of the module, including spaces between cells and the frame."
Thanks,
Navid

Thank you Navid. I will try to make it clearer in the documentation what the module area represents.
Best regards,
Paul.
