SRCC data for solar thermal collectors was created by Jim Bush
Hi,
I noticed that there are collectors in the SRCC OG-100 database that are not in the SAM database. I wanted to add one and proceeded to create a custom database and copy in a few to alter based on the SRCC data.
I noticed that the flow rate in SAM does not match the SRCC data. I checked a bunch more collectors and it looks like none of them do. What units for flow rate does the SAM database use? SRCC uses ml/s/m^2.
How often does the SAM databases get updated?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
We're working to try to get an up-to-date solar water heating collector library for SAM from the SRCC database.
As for the test flow rate, it turns out that SAM's solar water heating model does not use the test fluid or test flow rate variables. We have removed them from the user interface to avoid confusion. You can find the correct test conditions and other parameters on the SRCC certificate for each collector.
Best regards,
Paul.
