Dear Paul,
I have tried several attends changing the maximum receiver flux with a certain plant layout and certain receiver dimensions (I don't run the optimization). In that case, I see that the electrical production doesn't change while I change the maximum receiver flux and simulate the model.
According with it, which is the aiming technique used in SAM? In the Wagner thesis (Simulation and Predictive Performance Modeling of Utility-Scale Central Receiver System Power Plants) in the point 2.1.3 Aiming Techniques there are described two, the first one with all the heliostats at a single target point and a second one which distribute the heliostats images over the vertical axis. In SAM can be chosen between both of them?
Thanks,
