SAM requires a registration key each time I start it

Every time I start SAM, a pop-up window appears for registration. Please help me get rid of this problem.
Each time you start SAM, it checks with the registration server at NREL to verify your key. You should only need to enter your key once.
However, if you start SAM while your computer is off line, it cannot connect with the server and displays the registration window. You can start SAM without verifying your key by clicking Skip for Now. If you plan to run SAM often while off line, you can avoid that step by leaving SAM running and hibernating your computer instead of turning it off.
