Are you asking about the residential or commercial financial model? For those models, the value of electricity savings is the difference between the building electricity bill with the renewable energy system and the bill without the system. The value of electricity savings is not affected by the cost of the system. The net present value, cost of energy, and payback period are affected by both the system cost and the value of electricity savings.
