Dear Paul,
Why are the variables flat buy/sell rate not available in parametric and stochastic analysis?
Second,I would like to model a rooftop PV system with unreliable grid but no battery. What is the best way to incorporate this?
Regards

Hello,
The flat rates should be available for parametric and stochastic simulations -- that is an oversight on our part. We will fix that in the next version of SAM.
Paul.

In the meantime, follow these instructions to replace the user interface file for the flat rate input variables:
Download the user interface file for the third party ownership financial parameters page ( UI 4.77 KB ).
If SAM is running, close it.
Replace the file with the same name in your SAM installation: /runtime/ui/Utility Rate - Flat.ui
In Windows, by default, the file is in C:/SAM/2015.6.30/runtime/ui.
In OS X, to find the file, start the Finder, and control-click the SAM app to show package contents and find the file underContents.
Start SAM, and create or open a residential or commercial. You should now see the variables in the list of input variables for parametric and stochastic simulations.
Paul.

As for modeling unreliable grid, SAM assumes that the grid is always available to deliver power when the renewable energy system cannot meet all or part of the load. It is not possible to model an unreliable grid with SAM.
Best regards,
Paul.
