I have the intention to use SAM in Mexico, however the electric utility rates in the country are handled on scales. For example 1-100 Kwh costs $ 1 / kWh the following 100-200Kwh costs $ 3 / Kwh. Would it be possible to configure the program to suit the rates of my country?

Dear Gerardo,

NOTE: This reply was updated from the original on 6/3/2020.

Yes, it is possible to model a retail electricity rate structure with tiers. In the attached example, I modeled a 2 kW (DC) photovoltaic system that helps meet a residential electric load of about 6,000 kWh/year with a 2 kW (AC) annual peak load.

On the Electricity Rates page, you can see that the electricity rate structure has three tiers:

There is only one TOU period, so I set the period on the Weekday and Weekend schedules to 1 with my mouse by selecting the entire schedule and typing a "1":

You can run a simulation and verify the results:

Best regards,
Paul.

Dear Mr Gilman,
I am unable to access the example you linked in your reply... can you possibly share the example again?
Thank you very much
