PVWatts crystalline silicon modules? was created by nino
Hi,
I have been reading the "PVWatts Version 1 Technical Reference":
rredc.nrel.gov/solar/calculators/pvwatts/version1
I know PVWatts v1 has been retired since the start of this year.
Still I was wondering if someone could clarify something to me:
In the "Module module" section, it says that:
PVWatts v1 calculation are based on "crystalline silicon PV modules".
Does this include both multicrystalline silicon (multi-Si) and monocrystalline silicon (mono-Si)?
Or one of these?
Thank you for the reply.

Hello,
Yes, the PVWatts1 model was designed to give reasonable results for modules with either mono- and multi-crystalline photovoltaic cells.
The current version of PVWatts allows you to choose from a list of cell types.
Best regards,
Paul.
