Problem with the new version of SAM was created by domenico mazzei
Dear Paul,
I'm trying to do some analyses regarding parabolic trough and linear fresnel with different heat transfer fluid (oil and molten salt)
with the new version of SAM.
In the fresnel calculation (both with oil and molten salt), there is an error in evaluating the tank diameter and then in the estimated heat loss. In calculation with molten salt as HTF the "parasitic thermal field freeze protection" are not evaluated.
I'm using the same fluid for solar field and thermal storage in order to have a direct storage, and I saw that the circulation of the fluid is not maintained during nightime (at its minimum value) as for example in the calculation of parabolic trough.
I dont know if I made some mistakes. I could not upload the input file because the new extension is not allowed, but I'm sure you can help me in solve the problem.

Best regards

Domenico

Dear Domenico,

These are both bugs in the Linear Fresnel model that we are working to resolve. I will post more here when we have a resolution.

Thank you for taking the time to report these issues.

Best regards,
Paul.
