NSRDB Download Issues

The National Solar Radiation Database (NSRDB) is being updated, and some changes are causing problems with weather file downloads from SAM. We hope to fix these problems in the next update to SAM 2020.2.29 at the end of July. In the meantime here is a workaround if you have trouble with the downloads:

For example, if you try to download a file for Miami FL, SAM renames the file in your<user>/SAM Downloaded Weather Files folder to
"..._bad.txt". To fix the problem:
 
1. Open the file in a text editor.
 
2. Add a hyphen or some other text to the end of the second row.
 
3. Save the file and close the text editor.
 
4. Change the file extension back to .csv.
