Solar Plus storage, less energy yield due to undesired energy losses was created by ryaser
Dear Sir,
I am simulating an energy PV plus storage (batteries), 150 MW DC + 60 MW AC, according to the attached SAM file.
I am facing a problem with the output energy from the system, as you can see in the attached diagram and the SAM file, the batteries stop charging from the PV system suddenly although the batteries didn't reach their final maximum charging limit,
I tried different multiple charging and dispatching scenarios, automatic and manual and time series, but the same problem.
Many thanks for your advice.
and if you can identify the differences in the output data, between the following :
1- Energy produced by year and Annual energy exported to the grid, since the number of the energy produced is less than the energy exported to the grid, and I think it must be the opposite
2- in the monthly output data, the total electricity to the grid is less than the summation of the energy from batteries to the grid plus the energy from the system to the grid, please note the attached
3- in the lifetime hourly data, what is the array DC power, and what is the difference between it and the subarray DC power gross if I had only one array.

Hi Rami,
1. The difference between the annual "Energy produced" and "Annual energy exported to grid" is caused by the AC losses on the Losses page, which include AC wiring, transformer no load loss, transformer load loss, and transmission losses.
2. The difference in the monthly values you describe is also due to the AC losses I listed for Question 1.
3. The difference between inverter DC input power (called array DC power in older versions of SAM) and Subarray 1 DC power gross is caused by the the total DC power loss value on the Losses page.
Best regards,
Paul.
