how to edit the Wake Effect's "Constant Loss" for a Wind Farm? was created by tintin_milou
Hello,
Thanks for your help in advance. For a particular wind farm configuration (in "Wind Farm" tab), the "Constant Loss" is set of 11.02% by default. I am not able to change that number on the "Wind Farm" tab or any loss in the "Losses" tab. Is it possible for me to set the Constant Loss = 0?
Thanks again for your help!

Hi Daniel,
If you want to use the constant loss option to model wake losses, choose "Constant Loss" from the Wake model list. You can then set the value to zero. If you choose one of the other wake loss model options, SAM ignores the constant loss value and instead calculates wake losses as part of the simulation based on the spacing between turbines, wind direction, and other parameters as described in SAM's Help system.
Best regards,
Paul.
