Dear paul,
thanks in advance for your attention,
our graduation project is to make simplified full calculation for parabolic trough power generating and distillation plant.NOW,we try to simulate our project via sam. our problem now with some inputs we do not know how calculate them like max and min single loop flow rate in solar field tab.I watch a video (in sam help) of webinar that describe simulation of physical trough but unfortunately, i do not understand the iterations that have been made to calculate the values of min and max single loop flow rate also the number of sca-hce assemblies.

Dear Ahmed;
Please have a look at the files at the following links
Concentrating Solar Power Systems
sam.nrel.gov/case-studies
Modeling SEGS VI by physical trough model
sam.nrel.gov/node/73601
You can start your study with similar values in those files.
I am working on a long term research study. I find and cite to some thesis like "Simulation and Performance Evaluation of Parabolic Trough Solar Power Plants by ANGELA M. PATNODE".
You can find some thesis and publications in that scope. They present some general information about the limitations of the state of the industry. For the state of the art or state of the science or the state of the technology you should find the latest R&D studies and their corresponding publications. They will present the R&D materials capabilities.
Please take into consideration that your SAM study will be an iterative process. You will start with some initial values and finalize your study with your final values.
Have a nice day

dear, DR.burakomersaracoglu
Iam so gratful for you for these information,
but i have another question and i wish you can help me ,
we use ,in our project, molten salt as a heat transfer fluid.in this case,can i use initial values for min. and max
flow rate like those used in "SEGSVI20160825Saracoglu_physical_2017_01_21_new_version.sam" ?
