Updating wind turbine files was created by tam.hunt@gmail.com
Hello, do you plan to add new wind turbine data to the default library soon? For example, GE has a number of new turbines that aren't in the database.

Dear Tam,

We do not currently have plans to update the wind turbine library, but hope to get support to do so in the future.

If you have power curve for turbines that you would like to model in SAM, you could add it to the library yourself. The library is a CSV file called "Wind Turbines.csv" and is stored in the "libraries" folder in your SAM installation. You can see how the data is formatted for the other turbines and add your data for each new turbine as a row at the end of the file. Note that the power curve data for wind speed (m/s) and power (kW) are each in a single cell with values separated by the pipe "|" symbol.

Best regards,
Paul.

I'm not finding that file. Is that for the Mac version too?

Dear Tam,
Here are instructions for finding the installation folder on a Mac. You should see the wind_resource folder under "Contents:"
sam.nrel.gov/node/69223
Best regards,

Paul.

Great. I found it and modified it but it won't let me save it in the libraries folder. Can I make SAM see that file stored somewhere else or is there a setting I need to change to make it saveable in the correct folder?
