Cell Type enum ordering mismatch

We are writing some custom wrappers around both the pvsamv1 and iec61853par modules, but are seeing a mismatch in the ordering of enum options between the two when using the SAM UI and the SSC SDKTool.

The enum for iec61853par has CdTe as the fifth option, but the SAM UI for the IEC61853 Single Diode Model option has CdTe listed third.

In addition, the only field in the SDK Tool that calls out the enum also has a different order (see below).

I am getting an error message when I try to simulate on SAM

I am getting this error message when I try to Simulate. Please do you know how I can fix this.

fail(subarray1_mismatch_loss, min=0): -1.1
Simulation pvsamv1 failed.
SSC requires input ‘gen’, but was not found in the SAM UI or from previous simulations
Simulation levpartflip failed.

Battery discharging beyond energy need

I am experimenting to see what size battery would be needed to move off grid for a sample load. PV system set approximately equal to 100% of annual load. Battery set to a very high energy and power level (250 kWh / 50 kW), and can charge and discharge in any hour from PV. Behavior as expected through spring months (battery slowly charges from excess energy), but on a relatively high use day in spring, the battery basically drains 200 kWh of stored energy in 5 hours against a load of maybe 25 kWh in that same time.

Error when I run python file generated with SAM.

Hello,
I generate with SAM (Python 3) an .py file, but when I run this file (ide spyder), I have an syntax error.

.....File "/Users/srmac/Dropbox/Kepler/Projets/Affaire Moulin/-100kMoulin_80%dette_.py", line 44
ssc.data_set_matrix( data, b'subarray1_shading:mxh', subarray1_shading:mxh );
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax....

Do you have any ideas ?

SAM Crashes Using Downloaded .srw Files

Hello,

I am in a renewable energy systems course at the University of Wisconsin and many, possibly all, of my classmates and I are having this same issue. Our assignment asked us to download 2012 NREL WIND toolkit data for a specific zip code (53597) and the data successfully saves to the computer. The file directory looks good and everything. However, once you hit "Simulate," SAM immediately crashes. This is an issue affecting both Macs and PCs.

I have attached my .sam file in case it helps troubleshoot this issue. Thanks for your help!

Errors in excess credit calculation with net billing affecting Project NPV

Hi,

I just downloaded the updated patch. However, there is still an error in the calculation for the excess credit in September, which in turn causes the sum of the first year monthly values to not match the annual first year values.

Dispatch Control not working on physical trough at night times

Dear Sam team,

I am modeling a physical trough system with a thermal storage, that should be filled on daytime and discharged at nighttime (7pm until 11pm). In the Daytime no power production is needed an the power cycle should stand still.

To achieve this, I tried to use the dispatch control for the TES as shown in the attached screenshot.
Turb. out. fraction = 1; Storage dispatch w/ & w/o solar = 0 for the times from 7pm until 11pm.
At these times there is no irradiation and the "field thermal power absorbed" is zero.
