Wind Resource at More Hub Heights or Shear Coefficient

Hi,

The downloadable wind resource files from the online NREL WIND Toolkit features only hub height of 100m.
Using those files, I will have to enter a shear coefficient in the Wind Turbine section since SAM will not be able to calculate it without more information from other hub heights.

Is there an average shear coefficient or wind resource files for more hub heights that I can use to representatively simulate over Texas, U.S.?

Hello,

There are general guidelines for estimating the wind shear coefficient based on the type of terrain, but you have to make that estimate outside of SAM. For example:

Best regards,
Paul.
