Dear Paul,

How does the self shading model in SAM consider the edge effect?
For example, PVsyst has an 'Unlimited sheds' option where the length of each row (in a subarray) is considered infinite and hence the edge effects can be neglected.
Does SAM account for edge effect at all or is it neglected all the times?

Hi Neel,

SAM's self shading model neglects those effects. Please see Deline (2013) listed on the PV publications page for details about the model:
