default home vs. retrofitted EE home vs. new home was created by alyanne
I want to use EE retrofit and new home profiles as a sensitivity analysis, for rooftop PV, but SAM does not seem to respond to either of these profile changes.
The assumption is that retrofitted or new homes should have reduced demand, thus allowing the PV to supply a greater % of demand.
Even when we double the house size from 2k to 4k, it barely changes any demand or performance.
How can we model a more efficient home?

Hi Alyson,
SAM's residential building load calculator is useful for generating a load shape when you do not have another source of data. It only provides a rough estimate of what the electric demand might be.
You might try using the monthly load totals to adjust the load. For example, if you assume that the retrofitted home reduces the electric demand by 20%, you could reduce the monthly totals by 20% for the retrofit scenario.
Best regards,
Paul.
