POA on cell was created by Princess_Zaynab
Hello,
Please I am writing because I have a question about a value.
I make simulation of HCPV system. Then I go to profiles, I watch POA on cell. I want to know what is exactly this value (the equation please) and what is the relation with beam irradiance.
Thanks in advance,
Zaynab

Dear Zaynab,
"POA on cell" is the solar irradiance incident on the surface of the concentrating module. It is calculated as follows:
POA = DNI * soiling * IAM * alignment * wind flutter * optical
The inputs for the error factors are on the Module and Array input pages.
If you set all of the losses to 1, then you should see that POA = DNI.
Best regards,
Paul.
