Hello I'm new to SAM. Currently I'm working on sizing PV system for a building to which I have available area for installation. How can I get the kW if I have area, PV modules size?

        Hello,
In SAM, you size the system by specifying the number of inverters, modules in series, and strings of modules in parallel. If you have space constraints, you will have to account for that outside of SAM. For your system, you would have to decide what modules (and inverter) you want to use, and then based on the module specifications, determine how you want to lay out the modules on the available roof space. Once you've done that, you can go to SAM and set up the inputs to model the system.
SAM does show you what the total module area is ("Total module area" on the System Design page), so you can use that value as a rough guide of the space required for the array. That number only accounts for the space for the modules, not for additional space that might be required in the actual layout.
Best regards,
Paul.
