LCOE shows a negative value

I did a parametric simulation for a parabolic trough system. Input parameters were, solar multiple, TES hrs and number of subsections. when their values are 10.5, 0, and 8 respectively, the LCOE shows a negative value. can any one explin why?

Generated power sudden drop behavior

Dear all,
I simulated a parabolic trough system of 10 MW. Then a parametric simulation was carried out for TES hours and system output. Little later sunset, a sudden drop of generated power can be identified. It drops down up to around 8500 kW. then the generated power shows a constant value at 8500 kW for some time period depending on the TES hrs. I can't understand this behavior, specially the sudden drop.
As well as there is another unpredictable behavior as attached figure.

PV Generation Peak Varies During Parametric Analysis

Hello,

I am doing some parametric analysis where I am varying the PV capacity (5-10-15 kWDC), battery bank capacity (0-3-6-12 kWh), and dispatch choice (day ahead, day behind, auto grid target). While the annual power generated (annual kWh) remains pretty constant for a particular PV capacity, it seems that the production for the 5 kWDC option varies quite significantly according to the battery bank capacity.

The input boiler pressure could not be achieved with the resource temperature entered

Dear all,
Can any one help me on below issue?
I did a simulation putting inputs as described in the video given in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuwAPdv_l8Q except the location and nameplate capacity.
When I do a parametric simulation, a waning message came as "Parametric #30: time 31251600.00 { Power Block 4 }:
The input boiler pressure could not be achieved with the resource temperature entered". Have I done any wrong thing?

NOCT Parameter inputs in Parametric Analysis

Paul,

It appears that mounting standoff and array height do not get changed when I set them to different values in a parametric analysis. It seems that whatever the setting is in the module tab is what is applied across the board in a parametric analysis.

Hi Paul,

I want to do parametric analysis for tower height by fixing the power output from the power tower (i.e. for 1 MW electrical output) and radius of the heliostat field (i.e for radius = 200 meters) for different locations in India. I am using SAM Version 2015.6.30.

How to do this kind of analysis in SAM ?

Allocating Capacity In Parametric for Different Subarrays

Hi Paul,

I'm working in the parametric section of SAM right now. And I don't see the "Strings allocated to subarray" input variable in the list. If it can't be specified specifically, how does SAM divvy up the capacity between each of the subarrays?

Number of Runs - Is not Working Correctly - Cannot Modify the Number

Paul, I just wanted to alert you to an issue on the Mac OS X version of your most recent release of SAM. I tried to modify the number of parametric runs and it would not allow me. The default number or '5' was all I could do. Could you please take a look at it and see if it's an issue that's just on my end? Thanks in advance, Brian

Hi,
Can you give me the reason of the values (-18.34, 1.498 and 0.001377) in the below enthalpy formula of therminol vp1 ? In other word, how such a formula is derived for calculating enthalpy of therminol vp1 ?

H_therminol = 1000 * (-18.34 + 1.498 * T + 0.001377 * T*T)
