Dish Stirling Development

I hope this message finds you well.

First, I just wanted to know if the Dish Stirling system in SAM will be more developed anytime soon (storage option etc.)

and Second, is there any way to expand the Dish Stirling system code file into TRNSYS?

Thank you,

Dish Stirling Simulation issue

I am trying to simulate the Dish Stirling system on SAM using the default parameters values provided in the help file of the 4 systems(SES,WGA,SBP,SAIC)

These systems have different sizes (kW). The rated output (kW) is different.

How do i change these in same? Let's say that the systems sizes are (22, 10, 25, 9.5 kW)

Looking forward for some help.

thermal output

i need to know the thermal output of the dish stirling engine because iam constructing a non electrical load?
there is no thermal storage in the dish stirling how can i make one?

absorption chiller

i need to construct four 2 stage absorption chiller with approximately 380 ton refrigeration each ?
also how can i change the generator of dish stirling to Permanent magnet synchronous generator?
i need to know the temperature output of the dish stirling?

Case File

Is there an example file for a biopower system?

If you want to see an example of a system in SAM, just create a case with the combination of performance model and financial model for the project you want to investigate. Here are step-by-step instructions to see an example of a biopower system; you can use the same technique to start modeling a photovoltaic, wind, or other type of system:

Model for Dish Stirling System

Im doing a research in a novel equipment that will be installed in Brazil. Its a CSP from INNOVA, Trinum - Solar dish stirling system that produces electrical and thermal energy for residencial application:

In the next weeks I'll build the Trinum model to simulating in SAM software but there is lack of information from Trinum's datasheet.

So I would like to know if there is some kind of default values to use in the simulation.

CSR uses for Thermal absorption method of cooling

Dear All,

are anybody working on thermal absorption method of chilling system using CSR concentrated solar reflectors?

Please let me know....

Dish shading algorithm

Dear all,
could you give me some reference for the reciprocal shading calculation in Dish Stirling solar field?
SAM's guide tells that the implemented model is different from Fraser's one but it does not give any other information.

Thanks in advance.

All the best

CSP Dish Costs

I am trying to find out how SAM calculates parabolic dish collector costs. Does it use an equation from another source? Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.

As with all of the technologies SAM can model, the dish-Stirling system costs are values that you provide as inputs to the model. We have chosen default values that roughly represent general costs in the United States to help you get started running SAM, but you should do your own research to find costs appropriate for your analysis.

Solar Resource Data 101, February 2014

The Solar Resource Data 101 webinar was presented on February 12, 2014 by Janine Freeman of NREL. It provides an overview of solar resource data and describes the solar resource file formats used by SAM's photovoltaic, concentrating solar power, and solar water heating models, including TMY3, TMY2, and EPW. It explains how typical year weather files are developed, and covers topics such as using P50/P90 analysis to evaluate a long-term solar resource data set.
